1. Don't God Mod
No Pokemon or character is undefeatable. As much as you may hate to have your character lose, they will have to sometimes. No matter how many times you try, a level 1 Metapod will NEVER beat a level 100 Mewtwo. Please take into account your opponents skill and strength when interacting with other members.
2. Don't Be a Control Freak
Only you can say if your Pokemon gets hit by an attack. You do not say if your Pokemon's attack hit your opponent's Pokemon. You can say that your attack missed, but not the opponent’s. Say you dodged it instead. You also can not say where the opponent landed. But what if you want something to happen a particular way for a reason? Use the plots board! That way you can find someone willing to help you out in your story. Or you can always discuss it with whom you are playing with beforehand.
3. Hit Points
All Pokemon start with 50 Hp from level 1 to 5, then it goes up 2 points each level up. On every 10th level (10, 20, 30…) they get a plus 2 and 10%, rounded down to the nearest whole number, of their current stages base HP. When they evolve, they get an HP increase of 10% of the base HP of the evolved form.
For example, Happiny starts with 50 HP. Its base HP is 100. At level 6 it gains 2 HP. At level 10 it gains 2 HP PLUS 10% of 100 (it’s base HP) so that is a plus 12 HP gain. If it evolves at level 13, it gets a plus 2, plus 10% of Chansey’s base HP (250) so that is 25 for a total of 27 HP gained. Then at level 20 it would get 2 plus 10% of 250 (27). If it evolves to Blissey at level 30 it will gain 2 HP, plus 10% of Chansey’s base HP, for reaching a 10th level (25), PLUS 10% of Blissey’s base HP for evolving (Blissey’s base HP is 255, so 10% rounded is 25) so Blissey gains a total of 52 HP for that level up.
If you catch a wild evolved Pokemon (Ivysaur, Garchomp, etc), calculate its HP as if it evolved at the earliest level possible. For Pokemon that don’t evolve at a specific level (Lucario, Starmie, etc) treat it’s HP gain as if it was that Pokemon since level 1.
PLEASE if you have questions on this ask me or a staff member! I will be glad to help, math is Power!
4. Damage
Staff will decide the damage during staff based fights. In player vs Player fights, the players will decide what the damage is for your Pokemon. Take into account your Pokemon’s level, the opponent’s level, and what type advantages/disadvantages there are. Please make it fair and sensible. Remember, if you make your opponent’s attacks do laughable amounts of damage, odds are they will begin to do the same on yours, which will in turn, cause the battle to drag on forever. If too many disagreements arise from this, it will be modified.
When you use Counter, Mirror Coat, or Metal Burst, you cannot dodge the opponent’s next attack, and you cannot use the move the following turn. This is so Pokemon with a lot of HP, like Chansey, are not considered unfair. The only exceptions are Wobbuffet and Wynaut.
5. Attack Combos
An attack combo consists of the use of two attacks used in tandem to boost its effectiveness. They must make sense. For example, using Agility to boost the power of a Quick Attack, or Comet Punch using Ice Punches. Any questions, PM me.
6. What can you do in your turn
You can dodge an attack. You can perform an attack or attack combo. You can use an Item. You can switch Pokemon. If you switch out of an incoming attack, the new Pokemon MUST take the hit at full force.
7. Use Your Environment to Your Advantage
Use the field to your advantage. If there is a body of water nearby, feel free to use it. You are not limited to just Pokemon’s traditional moves. But keep in mind, a Fire type Pokemon would not likely want to get to close to a body of water to imitate a water attack.
8. Dodging
Five dodges per Pokemon. Please keep in mind that if you used all your dodges and you opponent switches Pokemon, you do NOT get to dodge anymore in that battle using that Pokemon! Three in a row max.
9. Pokemon abilities
Pokemon abilities will apply for Gym battles and player vs player battles.
