Staffers: please try to keep as close as possible to the personalities I have given each gym leader. I put in a lot of time coming up with each character.
Each gym has its own rules and restriction which will be defined in each gym. Battle type and amount of Pokemon used can usually be negotiated, so if you want to fight doubles or use a certain number of Pokemon, just have your character request it.
Each gym has a set minimum level that the Pokemon’s levels will be. However, if you challenge a Gym with a Pokemon higher than the minimum, the Leader’s Pokemon will match your highest leveled Pokemon in your party. So if you have a Level 100 and 5 Level 20s ALL of the gym leader’s Pokemon will be Level 100.
Each gym has a theme and in general will have access to every Pokemon that fit’s that theme. A Normal themed gym will have every Normal type Pokemon at its disposal, just to make things less predictable, more random, and fun. Moves will include anything the Pokemon can naturally learn up to that point, and occasionally some extra TMs, Egg Moves, and Tutor Moves.
Gyms will be challenging, but not impossible. It’s more fun that way. If you try you will most likely win, but if you half-ass it, you’re gonna lose.
If you win you will get a Badge, Money, and a TM to fit the theme of the Gym (results may vary).
Gym leaders are also my characters so they will be seen outside their gyms adventuring. Please remember that while you the player may know that they are a leader, your character (most likely) does not. Think of gyms as being in a special zone. Even if I am RPing with a leader away from their gym, you do not have to wait for them to get back to their gym. In other words, you can always fight a gym leader inside their gym.
When RPing, a leader will not have their gym Pokemon. They will have their own normal Pokemon that must be trained and leveled up normally. So you don’t have to worry if you meet one in the streets.
